Lead Storyteller
Every student can achieve academic success, yet the public education system was not designed to meet students of color where they are, instead they marginalized and underestimated their abilities. TAF partners with school districts, educators, and organizations to challenge the current public education system. We address the entire public education system, from top-to-bottom, providing STEM skills and equitable, anti-racist education environments where all students can succeed and by working with emerging and established education leaders of color to improve representation at every level. We:
- Co-manage two public STEM schools where we provide industry-relevant, equitable curriculum and experiences
- Partner with existing schools and coach staff and students to use our successful STEMbyTAF learning model
- Empower early-career educators and establish school leaders of color through educational equity and liberation pedagogy
- Give white school leaders the tools to create school environments where teachers and leaders of color can thrive
- Provide professional development for teachers who are interested in using a pedagogy rooted in equity and student voice/choice
Our approach to transforming public education is both rewarding and challenging and requires us to keep our north star focused on the excellent outcomes for students. That means bringing our best every day and picking each other up when we can’t, which is why since 1996 we’ve maintained a family friendly, entrepreneurial, collaborative environment where staff can bring their entire selves and their ideas to work every day.
